KANJI FLASHCARDS

Kanji is one of three writing systems in the Japanese language, with hiragana and katakana being the other two. Reading Japanese requires knowledge of hundreds, if not thousands, of kanji characters.

Here’s something that can help. The flash cards below are organized by levels. These levels mirror the Japan Kanji Aptitude Test known as the Kanji Kentei, – or Kanken. The Kanken has 12 levels, with levels 2.5, 2, 1.5 and 1 being the most difficult. The flash cards below start with Level 10, the easiest.

Use the buttons below the card to select which language you want to see first, flip the card, and move between cards.

We’ve combined kanjis and cats and got t-shirts and hoodies! Net proceeds go to Japanese National Honor Society and the Feeding San Diego food bank.
